Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
BiblioPraxis is a platform designed to streamline the process of finding relevant papers when given a research topic. It provides tools to help researchers automate searching and screaning hundreds of papers in a matter of minutes.
BiblioPraxis uses a multi-step process powered by AI to create your literature review:
- Topic Refinement: When you submit a topic, our AI first analyzes it for clarity and scope. If the topic is too broad or ambiguous, it may ask you clarifying questions or suggest alternative phrasings to ensure the search is highly focused.
- Intelligent Searching: Once the topic is refined, the platform generates a set of strategic queries to search Google Scholar, mimicking how an expert researcher would approach the problem.
- Abstract Analysis: For each paper found, BiblioPraxis retrieves its abstract from public academic databases. An AI agent then carefully reads the title and abstract to determine if the paper is truly relevant to your specific research question.
- Report Synthesis: Finally, the AI synthesizes the information from all relevant papers into a coherent report. This includes an introduction, a narrative summary of the key findings and trends, and a detailed list of the included papers with their individual summaries.
BiblioPraxis is most effective for well-defined research questions where the relevance of a paper can be assessed from its title and abstract. It excels at tasks like summarizing the state-of-the-art on a specific method, comparing different approaches to a problem, or gathering evidence for the relationship between two concepts.
An important limitation to be aware of: In its current version, BiblioPraxis determines relevance by analyzing only the title and abstract of a paper. It does not read the full text. This approach makes it incredibly fast for mapping out a field and performing an initial literature screening. We are actively developing future versions that will be able to perform deeper analysis by reading the full text of open-access articles, enabling it to answer more complex questions about methodology and detailed results.
